I first saw the shiny porosus version of the Kelly Cut in Hermes Shinsaibashi, Osaka. I was told that the Kelly Cut was "allegedly" designed by a man. The implication by the sales seems to be therefore, it is also suitable for a man. Hmmm... Regardless, it looked fabulous on me. I loved it so much that I secretly took a spy pic.
My interests in this was renewed at a recent gathering where a friend brought a So Black Kelly Cut in box leather. It is STUNNING. Here is a pic of me modelling the So Black Kelly Cut.
Now I've seen this being listed at a reseller website and it marries the best of both world. Black PVD hardware with alligator skin! The matte black color scheme is subdued yet sophisticated, for a guy! Other than the price tag, I am completely in LUST with it!
So Black has been a huge hit for Hermes. Wonder if it is too late for me to find one directly from Hermes? The other question is, without many evening nor formal events, where would I carry this? But was that ever a consideration when I buy Hermes?
